Baltimore Woods Nature Center
| Science nature education | |
| Baltimore Woods Nature Center transforms individuals and communities through place based science nature education. With extensive public programs, special events, and nature adventure day camps held at headquarters at 4007 Bishop Hill Road, Marcellus, and Nature in the City programming in the Syracuse City Schools and Syracuse public parks, we connect people to nature right here, right now. Early childhood connections to nature lead to lifelong environmental stewardship. Over 6 miles of maintained hiking trails on 182 acres of woods are open every day, dawn to dusk. In the Interpretive Center, many animal mounts are on display, as well as rotating exhibits of fine art from area artists in the Art Gallery. A large collection of Boehm Porcelains of native wildlife is on permanent display. The main program room (capacity 90) is available for rental. The Interpretive Center and Art Gallery are open M-F 9-4; Saturday 10-4, closed Sunday. The trails are open dawn to dusk for foot traffic only, no dogs please. Parking and admission to the Interpretive Center are free. Please visit www.baltimorewoods.org for information, including photos, employment opportunities, and event listings. |
